Travel back in time with this vintage violin. The inside label identifies it as a Stradivarius 1716 copy.
I assume it was made in Germany, but the label does not say. With a 14" body and 22-5/8" overall length, it's a 4/4 full size instrument.
Sides and two-piece back of lightly figured flame maple. The fingerboard is appropriately straight.
The sound post is standing. The sound post areas on the top and back are in fine shape. The fingerboard is in fine condition and is appropriately straight.
There is a speck of white paint at the very end of the fingerboard and one of the bass side upper bout top. The pegs and peg holes are in good round.
It has some minimal age and play wear, but is in remarkably good condition. T looks to have been very well cared for.
The finish is in fine condition. The scroll shows fine workmanship. The bridge looks properly set up. But this one's been very well cared for. Except for the older strings, it should be ready to play.
