Very pretty JDK Kestner #154 German antique bisque 17 doll with nice kid body
Beautiful, 17 tall, antique bisque shoulderhead doll by J. Kestner, Germany , circa 1892 , with row of cute, SQUARE-CUT teeth and a very pretty open mouth, lovely dark brown, antique glass sleep eyes with (incised) molded eyelids and finely painted lower lashes, multi-stroke brows that match her beautiful, light brown, replaced wig of thick curls and bangs, lovely cheek coloring, excellent quality bisque and original pate still in place. Her original, pin-jointed kid leather body has been whitewashed long ago to preserve the life of the leather. She has joints at her shoulders, hips, knees and elbows with beautiful bisque, lower arms with finely detailed fingers (one thumb is missing) and nicely shaped legs and feet with smoothly working joints. She is incised under the wig : Made in Germany Dep.
5 and at the edge of her shoulderplate : Made in Germany in script and is in excellent condition with no cracks or hairlines, no chips or repairs, no stains or tears and no odors as she is from a smoke free home. She wears a beautiful, antique style, white cotton dress with tiny sewn pleats and 3/4 puff sleeves with cotton lace and ribbon trim and adorable matching pantaloons with similar trim. Other items shown with her are not included.
