Beautiful hand blown MID-CENTURY MODERN chandelier made by Franco Luce in the 1970s. It's featuring eight huge, thick Murano glass leaves with a fabulous texture on the inside of the leaves. The texture is smooth on the outside, but when the glass was blown and hot, pieces of glass granules were sprinkled on the inside portion, catching the light and adding sparkle to the chandelier. THIS IS A LARGER ONE WITH 8 LEAVES AND HAS A CASING FOR THE LEAVES THAT OPENS IT UP MORE TO REVEAL THE LEAVES INDIVIDUALLY WITHOUT OVERLAPPING. Overall good vintage condition with age appropriate wear, including some fading to the brass coat and presence of scratches. Please note that there is some pitting in the brass. One leaf does have an internal fracture/crack in it which I have pictured (4th picture, second leaf from left side), but it is not obvious when hung and difficult to see from the design and texture. It seems stable as I have had it in my kitchen for some time. A drop of clear Gorilla Glue on the inside of the leaf should secure it, if you like.
I have never repaired it. I have taken this into account in the pricing.
I hope that you will enjoy this WONDERFUL and MAGICAL piece. PLEASE NOTE : ANY JEWELRY POSTED IS NOT KEPT IN MY HOME. IT IS IN A BANK OFFSITE FOR THE OWNER. Italian Murano MCM Floral/Leaf Chandelier By Franco Luce 1970s" is in sale since Saturday, August 31, 2019.
