Very Nice Antique Vintage 3 Club Set W L Ritchie Addington Woods D, B, S

This item is a matching 3 club set of right-handed original hickory shafted woods. Included with their play specs are the Driver 42 1/2" length 8 loft and C 8 swingweight, the brassie 42 1/2" 16 D 0 and the Spoon 41 1/2 18 D1. All are marked W L Ritchie Addington on the crown. I believe these woods were made by William Gibson of Kinghorn Scotland for Ritchie. The heads are in very good condition.

The appear to be all original including the finish on the heads. Please look at the many zoom pictures to get a better idea of condition.

The shafts are straight, I see no cracks and they are tight at the heads. The grips are very nice vintage condition long leather wraps. It is rare you see a set of hickory woods that has survived all these years intact, particularly in this condition.

If you are considering playing with this club, while I see no issues with this shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These old wooden shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee wooden shafts or heads against breakage when put into play.
