Up for sale is a VERY NICE, HAND COLORED Antique engraved antique map of "CARTE GENERALE DE LA RUSSIE EUROPEENE - PREMIERE CARTE" General Map of European Russia - First Map. By Mapmaker, Pierre Francois Tardieu. His uncle taught him the art of engraving and he produced many historical and genre works. Published Circa: 1790 - OVER 225 YEARS OLD!! - NOTE: The map is in French.

The map is on hand laid paper and. Is greatly enhanced with hand coloring.

It measures approximately 21" x 16", including the 1 3/4 border area. It is not matted or framed. The map is in Very Good Condition.

There is some age related browning, spotting and staining, but most of these would cover up very nicely when matted and framed. There are a few nicks and chips along the edges, as well. There is also some tape in the bottom left hand corner, covering a 2 rip. Other dings here and there. This is a GREAT MAP and these antique maps are a fabulous piece of history - perfect for any collector!
