VERY NICE, ANTIQUE Hand Colored map of Peloponese (Greece) P. Tardieu, c. 1790

Up for sale is a VERY NICE, HAND COLORED Antique engraved antique map of "CARTE DU PELOPONESE" Peloponese, Greece. By Mapmaker, Pierre Francois Tardieu. His uncle taught him the art of engraving and he produced many historical and genre works. Published Circa: 1790 - OVER 225 YEARS OLD!!

- NOTE: The map is in French and it is unfolded. The map is on hand laid paper and. Is greatly enhanced with hand coloring.

It measures approximately 21" x 16", including the 1 3/4 border area. It is not matted or framed. The map is in Very Good Condition. There is some age related browning, spotting and staining.

There is also some writing on the right border, but this would cover up very nicely when matted and framed. There are a few nicks and chips along the edges, as well. There is a crease up the left hand side of the map and a crease in the upper left corner. Some black markings on the bottom right hand corner of the map outline.
