Very Nice 11 Club Antique Vintage Hickory Shaft Spalding Set

This listing is for an 11 club set of antique vintage right handed wood shafted clubs' 8 irons, 1 putter and 2 woods. All were made by Spalding. The iron set is a 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,19 from the Kro-Flite model The putter is also from the Kro-Flite model. The two woods are also Spalding made from the Gold Medal series and the Autograph series.

The heads are nice and clean and not all rusted. Yes they do have the expected minor play nicks and dings. Please look at the zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. The shafts are old hickories.

They are generally a straight lot. The shafts have all been cleaned and oiled.

The grips are all the original old long leather wraps that are in very good vintage condition. They have been waxed and whipped. This is a very nice display set.

If you are considering playing with these clubs, while I see no issues with this hickory shafts (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These old hickory shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee hickory shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old hickory shafted club off a driving range mat.
