The case design is simply very unique and eye catching. The clock face is very clear in color and lettering.
The clock has a separate AC plug and when I plug it in it only hums. One could repair the clock or replace the clock with a modern battery clock but I chose to leave the original clock inside the radio. The various kinds and colors of wood grain are very attractive. The radio case shows only light wear for a radio of this age--see the pictures. The top three wooden spindles come off for ease of packing.
The grill cloth looks good and the cutouts over the grill add to the charm. There are two original knobs.
I recently had this radio repaired by a radio man and the capacitors were replaced and it played well last week. Perhaps a tube has gone bad. The dial and tubes light up nicely and I don't think there is probably much wrong with it, but for those reasons I have put a fairly low price on this very nice antique radio. Everything looks fairly original to me but one can never be completely sure. Please carefully examine all the pictures for details as I cannot describe every detail and don't hesitate to ask a question.Antique radios should be treated with care as the electronics are delicate and I can only tell you the condition as listed but cannot be held responsible for any damage after the sale. The radio weighs 24 lbs.
And measures 14.5 inches wide, 21.5 tall, 8.5 deep. Please check out my excellent reviews on packing.
