This offering is for an antique 19th century wooden pantry box. The box features a single iron nailed lap with a matching lap on the lid. The box measures 5.25" to the top of the lid and 9.75" in diameter at the widest point. The original varnish finish has worn to a pleasant mellow coloring and the surface patina is very nice.

There is a tight crack in the single board lid and the base. If you look closely it looks like someone ran a tiny bead of glue around the base and lid edges where they meet the side walls. I guess they wanted to fill that tiny gap that occurs as the wood dried over the years.
