Very nice Acheulean / Mousterian of Acheulean Tradition biface (hand-axe). This artifact shows a nice patina marked by "cupules" (created by intense cold). The proof of intense cold gives clue for datation: the tool was made by Neanderthal, in lower (acheulean) or middle (mousterian) Paleolithic. Origin: south of Bergerac, Dordogne, France. Dimensions: 10,2 x 6,8 x 3,1 cm attention the thickest.
