FANCY 1863 BRANFORD (BLW) RIM LOCK - COMPETE WITH KEY, VERY NICE!! Vintage Branford Lock Works steel rim lock, patent date of July 21, 1863, less than three weeks after the Battle of Gettysburg!

Comes with the key and both escutcheons and a matching'keeper' AND with a pair of vintage black porcelain knobs. Box measures 3 3/8" tall by 4 1/8" wide.

Backset (the distance from the front edge of the faceplate to the center of the knob hole) is 3 1/4. We have cleaned it and removed all the old dirt, grease and paint. We did not re-painted it, but rather clear coated it with Rust-o-leum. Heavy duty & high quality, old original vintage key fits and functions perfectly, safety lock also functioning perfectly.
