Antique Blacksmith Tongue Vise Wagon Post 4Jaws Forged Very Nice Original Cond

Rare and highly sought after tongue vise. Used from the Civil War thru WW1 by blacksmiths and farriers that followed the troops shoeing horses and repairing equipment. Pictures of these setups can be found on Google.

This vise is one I have had in my collection for a long time. It is good through out. The screw is in great shape. I see the thrust washer got put in backwards the last time some greased it as you can see in the last photo. Needs only a very light brushing and a coating of BLO to look fabulous. Note good condition of handle and meatball, very little wear. Jaw width is 4 inches and actual weight is 40 lbs. No marks on it that I found.
