1895 Very Nice JOHN FORREST Silver Fusee Gents Pocket Watch. SERVICED. Antique
A very nice condition solid silver gents pocket watch by John Forrest, Chronometer Maker to the Admiralty. It will date by the Chester hallmarks to 1895. The good quality and brightly gilded chain driven Fusee movement is in excellent working order and has recently been serviced. As you can see it is jewelled on the escape wheel and lever and has a cut bi-metalic balance. It is keeping good time for a 130 year old watch and there is a winding and setting key included. The good condition solid silver case measures 53mm diameter approx. Hinges are strong and unstressed with the covers closing well and the rear cover opens easily for winding. It has a nice white ceramic dial with black Roman numerals and a smaller sunken seconds dial. Blued steel hands and a clear new acrylic glass all add the quality and originallity of the watch. An excellent condition old silver pocket watch seldom available in such good working order.
