Ive collected Tudor watches since learning of Rolexs 2. I got this beauty in 2013 from Australia where I lived / worked for 3 years. Australia has a long history with Tudor as one of the first countries outside Europe that Tudor / Rolex exported movements to.
If you are familiar with Tudor youre well aware of the Ranger watch series created in the 1960s as their answer to the Rolex Explorer. Over the years updated case / movement models were released including adding a date window at 3 oclock while retaining the look of the original Ranger dial. That series was discontinued circa 1988. This watch dates to circa 1986 shortly before Tudor pulled the plug. This is not one of the early Ranger watches from the 1960s or 70s yet it is genuine Tudor.
The Rolex stainless steel case is in overall great condition with just a few light wear marks / rubs on back cover and between lugs. Case is about 34mm wide ex-crown; 41.5mm lug end to end, 11mm thick including crystal and 19mm between lugs. Serial number 182817 and model 74000 s.Inside the rear cover is signed Montres Tudor S. Geneva Switzerland; Stainless Steel and number 74000. Back cover stamped Original Oyster Case by Rolex Geneva with Rolex coronet logo. Stainless Rolex crown stamped with the single underline coronet logo. Black Tudor Ranger dial in nice condition with the classic Ranger hour, minute and center seconds hands.
Tritium lumen has faded out yet the hands and markers retain good visibility with light yellow color. Acrylic crystal also in good condition. Tudor signed ETA 2783 Swiss movement with hacking control is clean and running well. Last serviced in late 2013.
I wear these watches in rotation but with over 50 Tudor watches, they are safely stored more often than not. As with all quality mechanical movements, regular clean & oil servicing is strongly encouraged.
Tudor 7835 stainless folded link bracelet also in good overall condition; slight rubs here and there along with small indentation on one link; nothing serious. K4 date code circa 1986. End links stamped with model # 361B.
Bracelet fits up to almost an 8 inch (200mm) wrist. About ¾ inch (19mm) length adjustment within the clasp. Includes red Tudor inner and outer boxes both showing some wear but intact and fully functional. I'm not certain the box was original to this watch but its period correct and I've not seen another like it. Original papers have been lost to time.I guarantee its genuine Tudor and that it will arrive in the condition described above.
