Original glass, original reflector, all original. Still some black paint left on the base. 13+inches tall not including handle. In my family since new.
Its been hanging in the basement for 80+ years. House is for sale, and I brought the lamp back with me. Time for someone else to enjoy this lamp.
Note 2: wondering why all the shots are in the bathroom? That's where the lighting is best in this apt! The red towel made great contrast. The Dietz Buckeye evolved from the #13 Dash Lamp made in the 1890's, and is basically the same lantern as the square tube Victor with the addition of a reflector with a rear clamp to attach it to the dashboard of a horse drawn wagon. Where the #13 Dash Lamp had a square "Top Lift, " the Buckeye had a side lift in the same style as the Victor. The Buckeye was produced from about 1895. In at least 5 different variations.
